Great news today! Geoff Allum will be arriving in the Canary Islands over the weekend. He is making a special trip to see Britannia and her crew depart on the anniversary of his crossing with his late cousin Don – 12th January 2011.
We started the mammoth task of sorting and packing food today. Any ocean rower will tell you that it is a huge job, requiring a large room, many pairs of hands, tape, bags, vacuum sealers, lists etc. We are taking Peronin with us for the first time this trip – kindly supplied by Sand Baggers. It’s great stuff for expeditions as it provides loads of calories and nutrients in a powdered drink format.
The Amigo team have been hard at work also with chief Food Packer Carsten and Project Manager James finishing off their food and snack packs. Their boat Amigo will be in the water very soon – she looks fantastic.
