In December 2009, as part of the preparation for Mt Vinson, Nabs and his brother Muneer, went to climb the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro – 5,895 metres above mean sea level.
Muneer Al Busaidi
Muneer Al-Busaidi is a digital marketer by profession, a comedian by chance and an opportunist by choice. When asked by our immigrant sign language exchange reporter about what he does, Muneer was quoted as saying “I am sorry I don’t really understand the question or sign language for that matter. Not really sure why I agreed to do this interview. – CAN ANYONE TRANSLATE WHAT THIS GUY IS SAYING” (please note the capital letter indicates that he was shouting… not at the reporter, Muneer is actually quite nice to all people).
Muneer was born in the UK but (according to his memory) after a serious discussion with his father at the age of 5, his father decided to listen to Muneer and move to Oman where he grew up.
Muneer holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Business from the University of Warwick. When asked about his degree in an interview he was quoted as saying, “Seriously I don’t understand sign language, why are you still talking to me”.
In an archived interview however, Muneer was quoted as saying “University was a great learning experience.” However upon further questioning he could only name all his friends and the nights he DJ’d and none of the subject topics that he studied.
A huge believer in personal development, Muneer has an almost sickening positive outlook on life. Rick a very synical friend of Muneer’s described Muneer in an interview, “I hate that guy, he is always right”. (Rick spoke sign language).
Rick also went on to describe Muneer’s positivity: “when I say stuff like “oh life sucks” or whatever, Muneer always comes in and makes me be positive or whatever, he always tells me things like; “stop it”, “stop complaining” or my favourite “No Rick, life does not suck”. I don’t know where I would be today without him”.
The brother of the infamous Nabil Al- Busaidi; he often uses words of encouragement when it comes to Nabs and his adventures. He has been
known to use words like “you can do it”, “just do it”, “impossible is nothing” and “Theyrrrre great”.
With regards to his future, Muneer has aspirations of world domination. Not the enslave all mankind kind of domination since Muneer is a very happy person and would be too nice to whip people into submission, however some form of crazy success is in his cross hairs.
