Nabs is an active adventurer with his sights set on conquering the South Pole in 2019.
His previous expeditions include:
The Magnetic North Pole
In April 2009 he became the first Arab to walk to the magnetic North Pole, pulling a sledge weighing up to 50 kg, for 650 km, in temperatures regularly as low as minus 40 Celsius.
Mt Kilimanjaro
In December 2009, he climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa with his brother, before travelling to the Antarctic to become the second Arab and first Omani to climb Mt Vinson, the highest mountain on the Antarctic continent, and one of the 7 summits.
Mt Everest
In April 2010, he broke both ankles whilst trying to become the first Omani to climb Mt Everest. After spending several months confined to bed, wheelchair or crutches, Nabs started a rehabilitation program that included lots of rowing and swimming. He was then offered the opportunity to row across the Atlantic in a team hoping to beat the world record.
Atlantic Row
In March 2011, he became the first Arab to row any ocean when Britannia III crossed 4,600 km across the Atlantic in 43 days. Although they did not break the speed record, the team did manage to break or equal 5 records. First Arab, oldest female, youngest male, largest crew and most crossings.
